SA Grunge Band – Beloved

Beloved

David Lindhout-Hunt and Michelle Rieder met in February 2012 some call it fate however hearing their magical musical notes connect seems more like serendipity. Knowing they had a good thing going, the duo decided to grow, inviting equally talented musos, Henk Venter (providing bass) and Tiffany Cross (on percussion) to join Beloved in early 2012. We all know you can’t keep a good thing down, so from meagre beginnings in a small holding rehearsal studio, the band started performing at venues across Johannesburg and popular festivals such as Joburg Pride and Rock The River in Cape Town. They may be a young band, but they are truly motivated and passionate about their mission – to bring grunge back to South Africa and

ISO set to rock this December…

South African dance / rock band ISO, formerly known as Isochronous formed in late 2006 and soon became one of the top bands to see in South Africa. They released their self-titled debut album in 2008 which was distributed through Sony BMG South Africa. Their second acoustic album Imago, was released and distributed independently in 2010. In 2011, their third album entitled Inscape, followed and showcased the group’s song writing qualities, whilst continuing to highlight the musicality and technique of its members. From Inscape, ISO received their first commercial radio success with hit singles Destiny and Torpid being play listed on national radio stations across SA. They were also chosen as one of the winners of the MK MVP

Zebra and Giraffe, hailed as one of South Africa’s most dynamic live acts will show you just why they are when they hit the road this September to introduce fans to their latest album, The Wisest Ones. Boasting an impressive collection of awards such as the 2009 South African Music Awards win for Best Rock Album, Collected Memories, and the same year, the MTV Africa Music Awards win for Best Alternative, Collected Memories, The Wisest Ones showcases the bands desire to experiment while solidifying their roots as one of SA’s most prominent alternative-rock groups. With big plans for the future and a very busy schedule lined up, the tour takes the band to the USA in October and to Europe in early 2013, but not before one more

The Sherwood Garden Centre in Walker Drive is deceptive by day – quaint and serene with their meticulously and beautifully maintained gardens, tea and cake, birds chirping in the tree’s overhead… you get the picture. On the first Friday of every month the Food Shed takes over this little P.E. gem and transforms it into a smorgasbord of festivity; delicious treats, crafts, wine, beer and an abundance activity. Families and friends come together and enjoy the awesome atmosphere, live music and delicious food all produced and freshly prepared by up to 40 individual traders – all offering something very unique and yummy. A number of craft stalls to keep you busy browsing, as well as stalls offering kiddies food and craft

This show has been cancelled due to lack of interest. Crazy Diamond a tribute to Pink Floyd is coming to Port Elizabeth on the 19th of May 2012. The electrifying multi-dimensional show has been staged more than forty times since 2008. “Audiences were mesmerized during the show by the authenticity as well as the magic of the evergreen music of one of the greatest rock bands in history.” The success of the show continues to take the country by storm. Musician Mel Botes and the producer of the show admits that the music of Pink Floyd had a big influence on his music career.
