Music lovers from all walks of life in the Metro are invited to join together and celebrate the spirit of multiculturalism and reconciliation at a four-band concert in an Africa Month celebration what Bob Marley stood for. Organised by “One Blood Sound”, the concert will be held in The Boardwalk’s Vodacom Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 25. Starting at 6pm, the concert will feature “Take Note”, “The Brothers”, “Ever High Dread (EHD)”, and “Skank & The Roots”. “Take Note” is a six piece Jazz band formed by young musicians who wanted to revisit the recognisable trademark of Eastern Cape “township Jazz” while appealing to a youthful audience. “The Brothers” hail from Port Elizabeth where they

76 km and 44km trails to keep you on your toes… Elephants do not traditionally make good joggers.  As far as running is concerned, these beautiful beasts tend to take it easy, with the occasional moment of ferocious sprinting, trumpeting and ear flapping. On the 2nd of March 2013, a unique opportunity will arise, giving joggers a truly unique setting to ply their trade. This is the 7th edition of The Addo Elephant Trail Run, where runners will share the bush with our favourite, trunk-swaying, tusked leviathans. New Year is around the corner and while we loom over the possibility of the world ending, one thing is for certain, the annual Ruins New Years gig is ready to rock the Eastern Cape, with one heck of a party, one which hopefully no one will miss this festive season! After the devastating fires in St Fransis another party has been added to the calendar on the 27th of December 2012 to raise funds for the Friends of St. Francis Fire & Rescue Initiative. The benefit concert will use the funds raised from profits from ticket sales to buy much needed equipment for the St. Francis Fire Services as well as the NSRI. 5FM radio has jumped on board for the official 5FM New Year’s Eve Party, an Eastern Cape highlight! The Wild Coast Jikeleza Festival takes place in the fabulous grounds of the Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve, 30km from East London. This weekend Saturday and Sunday 28 – 29 July 2012 you can expect a weekend jam packed with Jikeleza fever! Sporting enthusiasts can participate in the trail run or fun walks and mountain biking bundu-bashing challenges.
