Pieter-Dirk Uys hits the stage with yet another one-man satirical masterpiece - Adapt or Fly at the Vodacom Amphitheatre at the Boardwalk Casino Complex this January. Over the years we have had the privilege of his multiple stage performances and personalities reminding us that it is important to laugh at ourselves however serious the situation may seem. His new show is a personal political comedy-trek along a familiar long tiptoe to freedom, through the minefields of racism and sexism that have always made up the tarmac of our political freeway. Laughter at fear has always been Uys’s trademark, from the darkness of his first one-man show in 1982 - Adapt or Dye, to the dazzling kaleidoscope of rainbow colours in his new show

Jonathan Butler live at the Boardwalk

Athlone-born Jonathan Butler will set the stage ablaze at the Boardwalk Convention Centre tomorrow night, for one performance only. This South African native is no stranger to fame. His first single, ‘Please Stay’ released way back in 1974 at the tender age of 13, garnered him a Sarie award, our then-equivalent of a Grammy, and set the white radio tunes alight with his unique sound during apartheid. Not being one to be bound by conformity, his tunes are a unique mix, spanning diverse genres of R&B, soul, contemporary jazz and gospel. Butler moved to the United Kingdom in the early 1980's, where his music career flourished. Having toured with the likes of Kirk Whalum, Dave Koz and Ruby Turner, as well as solo sell-out

Chris Chameleon is well known as the bass guitarist and front man of Boo! the eclectic musical three-man-band which acquired a worldwide cult following. When Boo! band members, Ampie Omo and Leon Retief, hung up their instruments in 2004, Chris took the opportunity to explore his Afrikaans / South African roots and presented his discoveries in his unique style when he released his album ‘Ek Herhaal Jou’, inspired by the poetry compositions of iconic 60’s poet Ingrid Jonker. Chris Chameleon is back with an album that easily builds on the creative energy that Ingrid Jonker’s lyrics instilled in him. The time has come to shed your inhibitions and take to the streets in your highest of high heels at Port Elizabeth’s favourite and fabulous Stiletto Run! Ladies and gents rummage through your closets and slip into the highest of high heels you can get you feet into. The Boardwalk Casino Complex will come alive with festivities from 11 am on Saturday the 17th of November 2012. PE's very own Charmain Allison will be getting the crowds in the mood to groove with her smooth tunes as the Waitron race takes off from News Café - this discipline excludes heels as the challenge is based on the abilities of the waitron to run with his or her most valued tool - the tray - including its contents (somewhat similar to an egg–and-spoon

Dude… Lets go Bowling

  When I slip into a bowling alley, the beautiful smell of well oiled lanes, the sound of rolling bowling balls crashing into the pins and the old school shoes entice the Big Lebowski out of me. Lighthouses Tenpin in the Boardwalk Casino Complex in Summerstrand has sixteen fully automated bowling lanes, hosting any function from Stag do’s to children’s parties and my personal favourite... moonlight bowling, with old school disco strobes and glow in the dark bowling balls. Lighhouses Sports bar has big screens showing live rugby, cricket, football and tennis daily including karaoke evenings, for singing enthusiasts. They often feature DJ’s (local and international) spinning up the decks for a cool
