Friday 27th June sees the launch of the 11 Days of AMAZ!NG that is the National Arts Festival. The sleepy, varsity town of Grahamstown comes to a screeching halt for a week and a half, when people flock from all over the globe to bathe in the luxury of the Arts. The internationally renowned smorgasbord of Arts and Culture is on the eve of its 40th Anniversary, so you know they’re doing something right! The  annual Port Elizabeth Chilli Festival is heating up for it’s 10th taste explosion at the Morewag Primary School sports fields  on the 23rd and 24th of March 2013. The festival is the place where lovers of a heated palate and chilli fundis meet in the windy city. There will be all manner of stalls paying homage to those fiery foodstuffs, presenting chilli-related products both to sample and to sell.  It is the perfect day out as, with a play area available for the kids and food, drink, belly dancing performances and chillies galore for the grown ups.  For the braver visitors, there is even a chilli eating competition or a braai master potjiekos competition. The much anticipated Anibrand Fees is upon us igniting the Brandwag High School grounds from Thursday the 28th of February until Saturday the 2nd of March 2013. This year’s Anibrandfees in Uitenhage boasts a bigger and better festival programme, jam-packed with anything and everything Anibrand organisers could possibly offer. Festival highlights include the agricultural exhibition, the potjiekos competition, Anibrand Idols, the festival bar, the non perishable food project, a power lifting display and a teenage area with rock bands. The ever popular DJ Ossewa will open the show at 8pm on Thursday 28th February in the festival bar. This is an exclusive show for adults only and tickets cost R40p/p available from the festival
