If we said Jan Hoogendyk, you would probably say “Jan, WHO?” Jan Hoogendyk AKA Elvis Blue (2010 Idols winner) wowed and won over South African’s hearts when he received the esteemed Idol title and generously shared his winnings with runner up Lloyd Cele. The gifted musician’s journey started when he was a boy, singing in school choirs, and busking in the streets of Joburg and Scotland. His one and only goal was to make and perform music. After a stint overseas as a street musician, Elvis returned to South Africa where he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a professional musician. And the rest as they say is history…
The awesomely talented Elvis Blue is set to perform at The Two Oceans Hermanus Whale Festival this Saturday 29 October. You can expect familiar favourites such as Lighhouse, Things My Father Said and Right here Right Now.
