The New Afroteens are a dynamic Afropop band started in 2007 by Themba Jack. Themba was mentored under jazz guitarist Alex Kuze, Alex being some what of a muse to Themba encouraged him to put a band together and so he did. Growing from strength to strength the band has performed at the Joy of Jazz festival in Joburg, the Buyel’ekhaya Festival in East London, and shared a stage with Bra Hugh Masekela at the Nelson Mandela Bay festival last year. They recently recorded their first album Siyazazisa meaning ‘we introduce ourselves’ featuring Hugh Masekela and Puff Johnson.
