Port Elizabeth Chilli Festival

Get chilli in the windy city

Chilli Festival at Walmer West Primary in Port Elizabeth   From 3-4 March this year, a small corner of Port Elizabeth will once again become a Mecca for all those who love the hot stuff.  It’s time for the 9th annual Port Elizabeth Chilli Festival.  This fantastic event will take place at Walmer West Primary School, William Moffet, and will dedicate two entire days to those little packages of dynamite that masquerade as fruits. The festival is the place where all chilli lovers meet in the windy city. There will be all manner of stalls paying homage to those fiery foodstuffs, presenting chilli-related products both to sample and to sell.  It is the perfect day out as, with a play area available for the kids and food, drink, belly dancing performances and chillies galore for the grown ups.  For the braver visitors, there is even a chilli eating competition at 3pm on the Sunday, with a cash prize presented to the winner.
The Port Elizabeth Chilli Festival runs from 9am to 6pm, giving you two entire days to devour as many chillies as your body will allow.  For those who overindulge in this regard, the fire brigade will be on standby.
